Joe’s physical therapy career started after ACL reconstruction surgery during his sophomore year at Misericordia University in 2009. Post surgery, he sought physical therapy treatment at an outpatient facility, where he was later hired as a physical therapy aide due to his deep interest in health, wellness, exercise, and helping people.
He worked as an aide while earning his Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies with a minor in Behavioral Sciences in 2011, followed by his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014. After graduate school Joe worked as a staff physical therapist until earning a promotion to clinic manager in 2017. Joe managed an outpatient facility for over 4 years, until he opened his own practice in a gym located in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Owning his own practice, Joe prioritized increased one-on-one time with each individual to better understand their story and guide their rehabilitative journey. This allowed him to help patients understand the connection between mind and body, as well as its influence on injury recovery, overall health, and well-being. He also collaborated with personal trainers, strength and conditioning specialists, chiropractors, and massage therapists, resulting in excellent patient outcomes.
During that time, Joe attended post-graduate courses in Colorado, earning certifications in Active Release Techniques. While attending said courses, Joe fell in love with the breathtaking views and the vast opportunities for outdoor activities the state has to offer. As a result, he decided to relocate to Colorado and is excited to join the FSR team. When out of the office, Joe values living an active lifestyle. He enjoys weightlifting, various mobility practices, running, hiking, climbing, and attending concerts.
